Rossella Biscotti’s artistic oeuvre encompasses videos, photographs and sculptural work. In her cross-media practice, cutting across filmmaking, performance and sculpture, she explores and reconstructs obscured moments from recent times, often against the backdrop of state institutions. In the process of composing her personal encounters and oral interrogations into new stories, the site of investigation tends to leave its mark on her sculptures and installations. Biscotti has participated in major international exhibitions such as Steirische Herbst (2018); Contour Bienniale (2017); 55th Venice Biennale and 13th Istanbul Biennale (2013); dOCUMENTA 13 (2012); and Manifesta 9 (2012). Her recent solo exhibitions include Witte de With and daadgalerie (both 2019); Kunsthaus Baselland (2018), and V-A-C foundation at GULAG History State Museum in Moscow (2016). Biscotti is represented by Wilfried Lentz Rotterdam and Mor Charpentier.
